IRONDAD!

On May 21, 2011, my Dad did something awesome...he became an IRONMAN. That means that he swam 2.4 miles, biked 112 miles, and then ran 26.2 miles (yes, that is a full marathon) all in one day. Even more, he did it with about 1/4 of the training that the "average" racer completed. He trained less so he could spend more time with me. He is a great dad. He did it with Uncle Trey, who is also now an IRONMAN. Here are some pictures. First, that clock reads 4:24. Yes, that is what time we had to leave to line up to race. There is also a picture of the athletes in the water...there were about 2500 competitors in total.
Dad wants to wish a special thanks to everyone who came out to cheer (pictured below) and all those people who helped watch me over the weekend and who followed Dad's progress and cheered him on remotely. You all are the best.

This is Dad and Uncle Trey right after they finished the race.
And this is what Ironmen look like shortly after the race...

Dad, I'm so proud of you. Maybe one day I can be an Ironman, too.
